101 in 1 Sports Party Megamix

101 in 1 Sports Party Megamix is a collection of single and multiplayer minigames for the Wii. While only a few games are available initially, playing each game and achieving a target score will unlock further games to play with all 101 games being available eventually.

Tell us about the game.

Max: The games are very simple and quite short but there are a lot of them, you have to do a different thing on each game. Some are quite hard and some are easy. The graphics are nice and bright but not as good as some other games like this on the Wii. All the different games use different things you can do on the Wii controller, like different buttons to press, waving it around or pointing at the screen to aim.

What was the best bit about the game?

Max: I liked the shooting games best, like the archery and disc shooting. Playing catch with your dog was cool but pretty hard. Playing multiplayer was pretty good because it’s exciting to see who gets the best score. I think that would be fun to play with lots of friends or family at Christmas.

What was the worst bit about the game?

Max: Sometimes it’s not very clear what you have to do in a game, it doesn’t always tell you the buttons to press on the instructions but you can guess most of them. Also there are only a few characters to choose from and you can’t change how they look, that would have been good.

What are your final thoughts on the game.

Max: It’s quite fun to play with other people and there are lots of games to choose from, they are all quite different. Maybe too many, I couldn’t remember all the names of my favourite games so it was hard to find them again sometimes. At first I didn’t like that you needed to unlock games but when I’d played for a bit I enjoyed it as it was exciting to see what was next. Some of the games were too hard for me to get the high score at so I needed help.
