Playstation Vita Pets has been revealed at PS Blog EU. Developed by Spiral House, the game offers a fun and adorable chance to raise a virtual puppy.
Kevin Oxland, the creative developer of Spiral House, insisted that the keyword was ‘game’. Although gameplay photos and footage reveal that the standard pet simulator experience appears to be there, he claimed that they really wanted to create a “real game, with characters, fun and adventure, so that’s exactly what we did.”
This involves travelling outside of your house, to explore forests, mineshafts, and eventually the mysterious castle that lies at the centre of Castlewood Island, just as you would with a real life puppy. Other serious elements such as puzzle solving are also there to compliment your puppy’s chosen adorable hat.
Spiral House has worked to provide personalities and unique mannerisms for each of the four available puppies. Oxland stated that the only way to make them convincing for today’s “demanding younger gamers” could “only be achieved through the power and features of the Sony PlayStation Vita.”
Although no official release date is set, Oxland has stated that he should be letting the dogs out by next year.
