Terraria to Embark on PlayStation Vita This Summer

The port is presumably based on the console re-releases of Terraria, which hit Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network earlier this week.

In response to the announcement, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe executive Shahid Ahmad said: “We are tremendously excited about bringing Terraria to PS Vita. For us this is a real coup, the opportunity to bring such a loved game to one of our platforms is really exciting.”

Mr. Ahmad revealed that the Vita version will also utilise touch functionality: “The touch screen will ensure a totally unique experience.”

Terraria was originally released on the PC in May 2011, where it received a 9/10 under review. Since then, the game has proven to be extremely profitable on Steam, which prompted developers Re-Logic to provide almost two years of free updates to the base experience. Terraria Vita is scheduled to be released this Summer from 505 Games.
