Looking For Party – International Badassery

The remaining few weeks of Final Fantasy XIV have been fairly quiet for myself, mainly dabbling in Alchemy and selling things in the market stalls. With November 1st looming, I have had little reason to work towards anything other that trying to get that elusive Mog Axe (and so far no success, but I did grab the Moogle Black Mage weapon which wasn’t too shabby) but since it has been confirmed that the Moogle fight will not be removed from version 2.0 I have calmed the progress down and chilled out.

My new Black Mage weapon! He even spins!

Tenatzen however, does not understand the term ‘chilled out’ and has gone full on bonkers. He has been working day and night to complete his Relic weapon and I have been upgraded to QUEEN OF HOUSEHOLD for everything else and on the occasional quiet times I have helped him out with currency farming – part of the list of MANY things required to get this damn spiffy weapon.

And the list? It makes for HORRIBLE reading:

The complete guide on how to lose a good chunk of your year, but get a shiny at the end of it!

Apologies if most of that didn’t make sense!

This is pretty much why I am holding out on going for the Relic Monk weapon. I simply cannot dedicate all my time to this! I have decided it will be worked towards in the re-release later next year but it is something I will gradually do. Poor Ten has tasked himself to complete this in a matter of weeks and to be honest he has been working at an insane level and speed. The link shell he has been running with is his dear old friend Junpei (our friend Scott) and some of his friends who have fast become regular voices drifting though my house on TeamSpeak. They run as:

Tenatzen Hachifusa, Junpei Gunso, Furious Cupcakes, Ryodi Valhalla, Pharacelcus Iota, Bim Iota, Finnagan Iota, Enuriel Valkyrie, Seig Hack and Laias Herter. All hailing from America, Belguim and the UK.

Not quite everyone, but getting these guys away from their progress was not easy (bunch of divas…)

And a very nice bunch of guys they are too, all keeping an eye out for each other and talking utter nonsense most evenings! I have only played alongside them a handful of times (with the exception of Ten and Jun obviously) and enjoyed every moment of it! Hardest bunch of people to screencap though, so much so my PC decided to reset itself during as soon as I snapped them!

They meet up every night gradually progress forward to get this relic done before the end of server saved status in November. And they are almost there. In the time it has taken me to write this, they have completed two speed runs at the required timescales. Bit mental, if you ask me, but they are highly dedicated to getting this done.

They recently completed the hardest fight in the entire game – The Raven, Nevermore (Nael deus Darnus Hard mode). Thankfully a friend of theirs, Lloyd Inhert, was filming the fight from his viewpoint and popped it up on YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

WARNING: Might have a few naughty words in it but good luck reading any of them as the quality is low!

You can’t really see just how hard it is without the voice comms included, the amount of instructions and timing was painfully hard. The video doesn’t do the difficulty justice, believe me – I was usually sitting behind Kody as he played thinking “How the HELL does anyone do this!?”

That is about 3-4 meteors going off around them, the mages have to nuke them all before they hit the ground! D:

But night after night, the gang got together and fought. Then fell. Then dusted themselves off, got back up and did it again.

Peas = severely booted!

Their reward was a set of earrings called White Ravens, amazing stats (Accuracy +3, Magic Accuracy +3, Regen and Refresh both +1) on them and a symbol to anyone checking your gear out that you took on the hardest guy in the game and booted his peas. This was their only chance at getting these earrings as they plan to remove the fight from the update to work with the present storyline.

Having a quiet life is very, VERY boring on FFXIV but it’s more winding down than anything else. Preparation for version 2.0 is under way and who knows, I might even get on the alpha test (highly doubt it) but for now I am gonna hit up ALC and more than likely go crazy!

Oh bugger off, Atomos; no one cares about you any more. I am trying to get my ALC on, you selfish git!
