App Noob

For the past however long I’ve been coming home after a hard day at work and neglecting my consoles. I do have games that I need to complete but I recently I’ve been super lazy. The most attention my consoles get is to play my DVD’s.

Having said this, my hunger for pixel fun hasn’t diminished; it’s just a shame that it hits me while I’m out and about. Now I do have a DSi XL but as I do like to fill up my bag with many bits and bobs it can sometimes be a little difficult for me to find some space. Now I know I can’t be the only person in this conundrum, right?! Then it hit me like a bolt out of the blue. I recently got myself a HTC Desire (yeah baby!) and so far all I do is make the odd call and send random texts. BORING. I am aware that I’m rocking some serious smart phone kit which can open my little world to some really cool stuff, so I decided I should pimp it up with all kinds of wacky and random apps.

Since I am a app noob, I’ve been grilling fellow smart phone owners and also going through Android market trying to think of something I would want. My dream is to find an app which could literally turn my life into a kick-ass romcom. But I have since discovered such a thing doesn’t exist so I decided to concentrate on getting different gaming apps.

At the moment I have the following games: Ninjump, Abduction, Pucca Classic, Paper Toss, Slice It! and of course Angry Birds. My little brother downloaded Ninjump for me and I played Abduction before so these were the first two games I had. The two are quite similar actually;  you have to get a ninja, or a cow in Abduction’s case, as high up a course as you can. Paper Toss and Slice It! were next to be added. They both test my skills of accuracy and also, it seems, my patience. With Paper Toss you basically need to flick your paper ball into the bin and Slice It! involves cutting up shapes into required amount of pieces. Both games may sound humdrum but believe me they are tricky. Finally Pucca Classic and Angry Birds. I wanted to add my favourite character to my phone but I was looking for more than a dodgy wallpaper. In Pucca Classic you find and touch the biggest icon before time runs out. And to those who don’t know about Angry Birds, all you do is catapult a bunch of angry birds towards some greedy pigs that ate your eggs.

My collection isn’t as vast as I would like, but I do think that I’ve managed to find a few gems to brighten up my phone. Now I’m always on the lookout for a new app so if anyone out there can suggest something, don’t be shy and let me know!
