I want them now

I’m torn.  My dilemma is that for once, the stars have aligned and there are so many new games coming out that I have an interest in that I don’t know where to start.  Oh, and I have ‘strained finances’.  Typical.  For once there is release after release clamouring for my pre-order and my wallet is barren enough for moths to turn their noses up at. I could be reckless and venture further into an overdraft and maybe order Viva Pinata…  but then, Spore is out too… but I can’t get the normal one…it’s too…well, normal.  I want the Galactic Edition and that will set me back forty five notes or so.  Then at the end of the month is Lego Batman and joy of happy days, Colonization, a game I played to death on the Amiga and still have on my laptop.  So I want that too.  Then the month after we have Fable 2 and later on Fallout 3, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Ghostbusters, Dead Space, Hydrophobia, Mirror’s Edge, Resi 5, Prototype, Street Fighter 4…oh what’s the point in torturing myself?  How can I choose?

But wait… my tiny voice of reason battles to the front.  My birthday is in October and Crimbo/New year are round the corner (depressingly), so FFS, what’s the problem?  I could just wait.  The ‘W’ word, however, is not something I am good at.  At all. My problem is that I don’t want to wait.  I want them now.  I don’t want to be pressed against the gaming glass watching everyone play the games I want.  Though the sarky part of me wonders what the chance is that I’ll actually play them as soon as I get them and not leave them in a pile with the other ‘to play’ games.  But I’d have them at least and the want would be satiated.  Until the next time.

I want them today,
No, not tomorrow…
I want to play ’em, to score whore and slay ’em,
And I don’t want to share em’
Give them to me!

The suspense has me hating, I don’t plan on waiting, ignore the score ratings
I’m going to scream…because I want them noooooow!

I’m the same. It’s ridiculous really. Why can’t we just play one game at a time? What’s the bloody rush? Then when we do get the game, we rush through all for the prize of it being over? Craziness. I think there’s an element of keeping up with the Jones’s here. If you didn’t know any other gamers would you really be hurrying to get through every game?

I think I don’t like to be caught having not played something that others have played but I’d get much more out of my gaming if I just took my time. I’ll be getting a retail version of Infinite Undiscovery next week and I’m going to play it at the expense of all else and try to concentrate on it. You mark my words!

I have started keeping a list of games I want… it’s not even a detailed one, covering all the ones from the last gen and this one, as if I started into listing them ALL, well, y’know, I’d need a few years to finish playing them! And a truckload of money. But that’s the choice I made when I became a gamer, I suppose…

I hear Ghostbusters may be in dev hell. 🙁

Tell me about it, it’s ludicrous. I have Fable 2 and Fallout pre ordered but then I think of Tomb Raider, Quantum of Solace, Gears 2 and that’s just on the 360!

I walked into HMV earlier and their music started playing Queen: I want it all.

Bit coincidental really as I had only just read this post 45minutes earlier.

Spore, Viva Pinata 2 and Mercs 2 this weekend *dribbles*

What’s that about Ghostbusters Michael? Please don’t break my gaming heart, as I’m expecting good things from it, along with the nostalgic front.

Lucky I’m not worried about Viva Pinata and Spore, really. Mercs 2 will keep me occupied for a while. Still playing Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 and GRID and Pixeljunk Eden on PS3 as well.

    Lots to play!

I only really have one game on my ‘Want’ list and its not even a game thats very important or even one thats going to be critically good at all!

Warriors Orochi 2.. 🙂 Come on, you really didnt think Koei wouldnt milk the spin-off idea?

I’m am possibly the worst person for this. As long as the bills are paid I will buy every game I want on launch day regardless of how many other games I’m playing. I’m currently playing Fable 2 Pub Games, Soul Calibur and Too Human but still intend to complete our shopping list this weekend of Tiger Woods (definitely for the hubby!), Spore (DS), Infinite Undiscovery and Viva Pinata. There is no way I can play all this but the sensible side just won’t kick in!

    I have a master plan. 🙂
I’ll finish loads of games that I’ve been playing all summer and trade them in (Civ Rev, Lost Odyssey? Not likely!).
I’ll keep my wants list down to the bare essentials (who am I kidding?).
And then I’ll only buy new games when I’ll have time to play them, thus solving all my problems.

🙁 It sounded more probable in my head.

Yeah, it was something to do with Activision Blizzard stating they’d only be working on so many games/franchises and that this wasn’t one of them… HOWEVER it has since been stated that it will, in fact, be released after all. Though it may be pushed back to next year. Phew!

Next year is fine by me, maybe it’ll be released during a time when we’re going through a quiet patch.

There’s just something about Ghostbusters that is just awsome, I don’t know what, but it just is.

Now, if someone would remake the Top Gun game I used to own on my Nes that would be great!

As long as Top Gun is a Lego game as the thought of being able to smash Tom Cruise into bits is more than a tad appealing 😀
