After first appearing in Super Smash Brothers Melee on the GameCube and again in the Wii sequel Brawl, Nintendo have revealed that iconic Fire Emblem lord Marth will be playable in Super Smash Bros. U.
Marth was most recently referenced in this year’s Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is set in the same continent as the original Fire Emblem games on the NES. Some Smash players are hoping that the new, fan-favourite character Lucina will turn in up in Smash Bros. U, possibly as a re-skin of Marth.
Nintendo have released a new set of screenshots of Marth on the official Japanese Smash Bros. website, which we’ve embedded below. A cel-shaded screenshot confirms that Marth will also be present in the 3DS version of the new Smash Bros. title.
