Arkham Origins Reveals Multiplayer in Latest Trailer

Warner Bros. and DC have today revealed the multiplayer component of the latest Batman game – Arkham Origins. A prequel to the previously released Asylum and City games, Origins follows a younger Batman before he has become the Dark Knight that criminals fear today. A multiplayer component was rumoured a while back, but today an official confirmation has arrived in the form of a trailer, which can be seen below.

While how it will play can only be guessed at for now, the specifics of teh mode have been detailed as a three vs three vs two three team match up. The two teams of three appear to have a third person shooter game style, with guns, explosives and even special items such as quad-rotors. It all seems a little Gotham City Imposters so far, but this is an Arkham game, and as such there is a twist. The final team of two plays as Batman and Robin, utilising all the moves and gadgets that the series has come to be known for.

While promising, the multiplayer is likely going to be little more than an added extra when the game it’s attached to is an entry in the Arkham series. After all, who is going to want to risk not getting to be Batman?
