Forza Motorsport 5 Requires Day One Download

Most games these days often have a patch of some sort come the day of release, but few have required a serious download to actually complete the game; Forza 5 will be one of these games. Talking to IGN, Turn 10 stated that come launch day, the disc you buy for Forza Motorsport 5 will actually be missing certain things. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view and ability to access the internet) you will be able to download all these missing features for free at release.

Turn 10 head Dan Greenawalt said “So when you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in, and when you log in you’re going to get the Drivatars and you’re also going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars.” He also detailed how the Drivatars will work now that the Xbox One doesn’t require an almost constant connection, likening it all to a refrigerator –  “You have to fill it up with food the first time, and from then on, you connect whenever you want when you want to update your food.”

As a bonus, in line with previous reports that you will be able to play games while downloading them, Forza 5 will let you begin your racing career as you update, meaning it should (hopefully) be fairly hassle free in getting the full experience.
