Incoming – March Plus

Welcome back to our feature where we aim to outline the new releases that that our readers might be interested in!

Well, this is a first. While there have been some hectic release months during the last year of Incoming, there has never been one so busy that it’s actually broken my table-formatting! The good news is that this means every single reader here will, in all likelihood, have a game to look forward to in the coming weeks.

There are so many titles to talk about here, but there are two highlights that are sure to warrant long discussion: the much-anticipated re-boot of the Tomb Raider franchise, out next week (let’s see how Lara Croft-devotee Kirsten rates it!), and Bioshock Infinite, Ken Levine’s “true” follow-up to Irrational Games’ 2007 hit original, arriving before March ends. And for gamers who’d much rather play god than follow the whims of man, there’s an all-new SimCity one week from now. Cue an accurate recreation of Glasgow being torn apart by Godzilla.

Nintendo fans will also be well-sated, with Luigi’s new starring role in Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon looking very promising, and not one, but two versions of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise arriving in the form of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on both the 3DS and Wii U. I’m particularly looking forward to finding out how LEGO City Undercover, Traveller’s Tales’ open-world riff on Grand Theft Auto and 80s cop-dramas, is received when it’s released right at the end of the month.

Last (but by no means least), Sony Europe have done an outstanding job with their PSN selection for March, which includes big-name hits such as God of War HD and Mass Effect 3 for the PlayStation 3, with the Metal Gear Solid HD collection rounding out the month on the PlayStation Vita. By comparison, the North American selection looks positively barren, though bear in mind that its releases are updated weekly and there’s probably more to come!

You’re right, Scott, two weeks for God of War HD. From the Playstation EU blog:
“There is a little catch though – it’s only available for two weeks from today, Wednesday 27th February, so make sure you grab it while you can as once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
