Want to be part of a DS World Record Attempt?

Ah yes, some of us from Ready Up go way back with the lovely bunch at DS:London. Over the years we’ve enjoyed getting together in the pub, sitting down to a nice beer and participating in some multiplayer mayhem on our DSs! However, today I’m bringing good news on behalf of our Nintendo friends. Check this out!

Join DS: London for the Nintendo DS World record attempt!

To celebrate the London Games Festival, DS:London, in association with the London Games Festival Fringe, will attempt to break the world record for the most number of people playing a DS at the same time. And we’d like you to help and join in.

Budding record breakers should bring their Nintendo DS, nicely charged up, and their favourite games to the Rocket Center, Holloway Road, on Saturday 25th of October. We need 400 to 500 people to break the record, which stands at a humble 381. This is an official world record attempt with adjudication from Guinness on the day.

The day kicks off at 4pm for registration and pre-attempt fun with the record attempt starting at 5pm. All members of the public are welcome, young or old!

The gaming doesn’t stop there, you’ll have the chance to make new friends, play new games and most important of all, have fun! Then afterwards there will be a pub evening (over 18s only) and the odd bragging rights tournament.

To break the record we’ll need to play our DS consoles for five minutes non-stop – it doesn’t matter if it’s in a linked game or not. Turn up no later than 5pm if you wish to take part in the record attempt.

We’ll be joined on the day by the Girl Gamers Tournament and then there will be a pub quiz (over 18s only) in the evening. Time and resources allowing, we hope to have some other smaller events such as a raffle or maybe a tournament. Go to DS:London to register on our mailing list for the latest information on what is happening or check out the Facebook event.

This is a free event. We will have a collection on the day for voluntary cash donations that will go to Children In Need.
