Ultra Street Fighter IV Release Information Revealed

Regarding the tentative release dates, Capcom explained that it wanted players to be prepared in time for the Evolution 2014 tournament:

“Next up is the release date information for Ultra Street Fighter IV. Right now, we are hard at work to bring the game to all of our fans as soon as possible, and want to ensure there is enough time that players can practice to compete at Evolution 2014.”

Ultra Street Fighter IV boasts six new arenas and five new fighters, for a total playable roster of 44 characters. Once again, Capcom have tweaked the character and gameplay balance for this version.

As an expansion to last year’s Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012, Ultra will arrive in June as a digital upgrade for $14.99/€14.99 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A PC release will follow in August at the same price.

Commenting on the later PC release, Capcom said: “Apologies to our PC fans, as we did want to release simultaneously, but this was the only way that we could ensure that Ultra Street Fighter IV would be included in the largest fighting game tournament in the world.”

If you haven’t been following Street Fighter IV since its original console release back in 2009, then Capcom will also be releasing full retail versions of Ultra, including all previous costume downloadable content, priced at $39.99/€39.99 (consoles) and $29.99/€29.99 (PC). There has been no word of a release on the new generation of PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U consoles.

The full announcement, as well as information on the Capcom Cup schedule (if you’re lucky enough to be San Francisco on 14th December), can be found on the official Capcom Unity blog.
