Sega Takes Over Atlus Parent Company

Atlus’ parent company – Index Corporation – has today begun the process of handing management duties over to Sega’s parent company. This means that Atlus, and all its IPs such as the Shin Megami Tensei series and Trauma Centre, is now a Sega company. To go with the change of management also comes a change of name, with the company formally known as Atlus now coming under the umbrella of Sega Dream Corporation, though this name has been said to potentially change in the future.

What I really want to know now though is whether or not the EU will be getting Atlus games at the same time of our American cousins. Due to publisher issues, in the past we often had to wait extortionate amounts of time just to get our hands on some titles, recent example being Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Arena. Now that everything is under the blue Sega standard though, it isn’t beyond hope to believe that release dates may now be closer across the region gap.
