Konami have today announced that Europe will be receiving the Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Collection this September. While no price or precise launch date has been announced yet, with September being only a couple of months away they should follow soon.
This set is being hailed as the definitive Metal Gear collection, a claim which is thoroughly backed up by the inclusion Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid Special Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2 HD, Metal Gear Solid 3 HD, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD, Metal Gear Solid 4 Trophy Edition, and both digital graphic novels, with the inclusion of MGS4 of course making this a PlayStation 3 exclusive release.
While most of these titles are available already, with the HD games even already having a collection to themselves, this Legacy release marks the first time players will be able to jump into Special Missions 300+ VR missions since its original release in 1999, or its PC port in 2000. This collection is also the first time that the second digital graphic novel, chronicling the events of Metal Gear Solid 2, will be available in Europe. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view) these DGNs will not take the form of the interactive comic book the first novel took on the PSP, instead having both play as Blu-Ray movies.
Any which way this collection turns out, its certain to excite Metal Gear fans, and bring everyone up to speed in time for The Phantom Pain.
