Incoming – June Plus

Welcome back to our feature where we aim to outline the new releases that that our readers might be interested in!

With the news-generating behemoth that is E3 just a week away, most of the gaming industry (not to mention our own news team) will have their hands full covering the event. But that doesn’t mean that there won’t be quality titles this month!

On the console side of things, we’ve got Remember Me appearing later this week, which Ryan recently reviewed. For many, however, the highlight of the month will be Naughty Dog’s much-anticipated PS3 swansong, The Last of Us, arriving on 14th June. Finally, Nintendo continues its “Year of Luigi” later this month with New Super Luigi U, an alternate version/expansion of last year’s New Super Mario Bros. U, focusing on the clearly-superior member of the Mario Bros.

Personally, I’m expecting to lose all semblance of a life when Animal Crossing: New Leaf appears next Friday. To what lengths will we have to go to appease the sinister Tom Nook this time!? And for those still absorbed by the fantastic Fire Emblem: Awakening, Europe is finally being treated to the (sizable) DLC that our American cousins have been working through for the last couple of months.

We also seem to be reaching some sort of parity for releases across PlayStation Plus in both Europe and America. The EU region will this month receive an excellent selection in Demon’s Souls, the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the PlayStation 3, while NA players can download the PlayStation 3 versions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Saints Row: The Third, with Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward on the Vita rounding out a great selection!
