One of the many games to rear its pretty little head at E3 is WET. For those of you who know little of this game it is an innovative and action-packed third person shooter brought to us by the good people at Bethesda. WET promises to bring in a wide ranging audience with a combination of good old fashion shooting, sword play that would make Altair proud and also Mirror’s Edge style OTT acrobatics – all in all an amazing mix! Graphically engineered to give an old style movie edge, this shooter really stands out from the rest, especially when you rack up the kills to release rage mode:
Voiced by the stunning Eliza Dushku (whom you most likely now as Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer), you play Rubi Malone, a gun for hire that takes a job that is not all it seems. On the run from pretty much everyone and with your kill count racking up, the violent story line is given a humorous edge by acclaimed writer Duppy Demetrius (yes, it’s that writer from that little thing called 24!)
With the story taking you to three continents there is plenty of opportunity to test your acrobatic skills and really immerse yourself in the over the top characters, but this game’s unique retro style keeps you guessing. Rubi is everything you would expect – sexy, dangerous and filled with enough attitude for guys to be happy playing a female lead. WET will be appearing on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 this autumn and looks like a definite addition to my collection so get your pennies saved up and for now, enjoy some screenshots and the E3 trailer!
