Everyone’s heard of the Guinness World Records and most will have had a flick through one of the yearly updated books at one time or another. From amazing to absolutely wacky, these books are chocked full of world-wide records.
But even though the World Records book had a relatively small section dedicated to computer games, a Gamer’s Edition was released in February of 2008. Going by the name of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2008, the “gamer’s bible” was released in association with video games world records’ tracking organisation Twin Galaxies. It featured records spanning from the very beginning of gaming to the present generation of consoles, plus a full section of high scores.
Now the Gamer’s Edition is back with its 2009 annual. Bringing high scores, the most successful games, key events of the past year, interviews and much more: the 2009 edition is a valuable asset to any gamer. Not to mention Ready Up has three writers who hold gaming world records and feature in the book. Look out for Kirsten and Eleanor’s longest gaming marathon and our Fran took part in the largest gathering of cosplayers.
But to make the latest edition’s release even sweeter, Ready Up has one free copy to give away to a lucky reader.
