It’s going to get worse (better) before it gets better (worse)!

The last two months have been awash with a huge selection of ‘triple A’ titles and some lesser games too. This all happens during a time where people are trying to watch the cash flow and these decisions have been tough for the most part. Of course we want all the games but it just doesn’t work that way.

I have been looking through some of the titles that are due in 2009 and we are in for another bumper year. Albeit most of the titles are sequels but there are some new titles on the horizon as well. Some of the titles I am looking forward to are F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin, Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Half-life 2: Episode 3. For fighting fans there will be Street Fighter 4 and for driving fans there is Colin McRae Dirt 2, so there really is potential for some top titles in the near future.

Okay, so you are still not satisfied? In my last blog I touched on the three new DLC add ons for Fallout 3. Those are just the start of it, almost all the top games released recently are going to throw some DLC out there to keep everyone interested.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is going to have two DLC packs released with the first rumoured to be in January, Left 4 Dead is looking at more campaigns, bosses and weapons and Fable 2 is looking at additional content as well. I could sit here and rhyme off DLC after DLC for all the games that we have picked up this year but I would probably crash my brain.

With all the games just released, the new games coming out and all the DLC that is going to be available are we in jeopordy of drowning in a sea of video game entertainment? People are going to be drawn between the ‘I must have everything’ and the ‘I just cannot afford anything’ posts. Hopefully this doesn’t have a negative effect on the Xbox 360 or gaming as a whole. As for me, I am just going to have to fall out with the wife and take full control of the television for the foreseeable future.

Mass Effect 2 is what I’m really looking forward too, the first one is great and it really broke the mould by finally getting me away from fantasy and back into a Sci-Fi setting.

Throw in Bioshock 2 as well and you’ll keep me plenty happy.

I haven’t got anywhere near enough time or money lately to keep up. Who’d have thought we’d be complaining about having too many good games!
