Casper the friendly ghost has been sent to Scare School by his three uncles, to learn to be a more scary and less friendly ghost.  During lessons Casper helps his classmates out by collecting and delivering notes, treats and other items from one friend to another. Sneaking behind the teacher’s back Casper must avoid Thatch the bully vampire and make sure that he is seated back in his chair before the teacher turns round and catches him!

Name: Amber

Age: 8

Did you enjoy playing Casper’s Scare School?

Amber:  No. Well, a bit. I enjoyed the first level, you have to keep away from the bad guys and you have to collect stuff and take it to people like pencils and notes and necklaces but you have to make sure the teacher doesn’t see you.

Did you dislike the game?

Amber: Yes I did dislike this Casper game because it was tricky to get Casper to go where I wanted him to go. It’s like a maze but sometimes if you tap the stylus at where you want to go Casper just goes right past it.

Did you have a favourite character?

Amber: I liked the purple monster, all of the characters in the game look nice and Casper looks just right.

What was the worst bit about the game?

Amber: It was boring, it was all the same over and over again I got bored after the first level.

Was there a best bit for you?

Amber: No no best bit.

How much fun was this game?

Amber: Fun at first then not fun, boring.

Parents Comments: Casper has great graphics for a DS game but there’s just not enough to it to keep kids interested.

Summary
Casper's Scare School feels like a lazy game with very little effort put into it. It looks good, it's well animated and the puzzle itself is fine. It would have worked as one of many mini games but it's been stretched out and warped into a boring and repetitive experience.
