12 noon till late, Saturday 5th September 2009

ESC Games, Hope St, Glasgow

It’s Ready Up’s community meet up time again, people, and for the first time we’ll be rocking Glasgow for this one. To celebrate our first Scottish meet up we’re pulling out all the stops to make this an easy to attend and affordable event. We’ll be setting up in the basement at ESC Games on Hope St for an all day and all night games fest, a bit like an all you can eat buffet, but with games. We’ll be running mini tournaments with awesome prizes throughout the day and night, with all the games you’d expect and some special fan favorites too - Arcana Hearts anyone? With Glasgow on our doorstep we can head out for some food (perhaps an all you can eat buffet?) and drinks, then back to ESC for more games and fun into the small hours.

Entry to ESC for the day will be £5 and will include play on all the consoles set up in the basement as well as 5 hours play time on the ESC gaming PCs upstairs. Additional PC play time can be purchased for £1/hour if needed, too.

Everybody is welcome so come join in and spend some serious time doing what we do best, playing games. Don’t forget your DSs and/or PSPs for some Mario Kart and Monster Hunting!

GAMES WE PLAN ON HAVING SETUP
Full compliment of Guitar Hero (2/3/World Tour/Metallica/Aerosmith) & Rock Band 1 & 2
Street Fighter IV (Arcade cabs)
Arcana Hearts (PS2) - an Insert Coin Crew Fav
Super Monkey Ball II (Gamecube) - 4 Player Monkey Target!!
Wii Sports Resort (Wii) - Motion+ Madness
Worms/Bomberman (XBLA)
...more to come.

It will be impossible for me to attend, this is the date that two of my best friends wed each other. Have a great meet and make sure there's plenty of photos for me to look at :)

Having missed the last meet, I'm going to try my damnedest to get to this one. I think I have enough holiday time to cover the travelling, I'd just need to find cheap accomodation and transport from Northamptonshire :/

Wouldn't get too excited guys, you might have to put up with me :P

I can thoroughly recommend the hostel in Park Terrace Glasgow, if you have anything you need to bring along we can look after it in esc.

Super cheap and really close to the city centre.

And yeah, I was politely reminded that the 5th is the day of Steff's bday party. I will make it along at some point though :)

Steff, I heard a rumor that there will be cake there for birthday girls.

:)

That will fail Dan. Believe it or not she dislikes cake in 99% of forms. Only cheesecake can bring a smile to her face.

I might drive up, I could possibly pick people up on the way, unless I fly.

I need to work out if I can afford all this.......

MrCuddleswick has left the forum. Things were said. Not good. Must leave.

I'll be there. Looks like I'll be parking at work (a mile from Luton airport) and flying up on Squeezyjet. I prefer to ride the train but that doubles the price!

Can't wait to see all y'all there!

NewCode himself will be there? Sign me up.

Just looking at trains....six hours in a train, great. And it costs me 50 quid too....hmm, trainline..

Post Count: 2202

Make that 70 quid, dang.

Really? I looked at trains and they looked to be closer to £100 per person. I can fly Squeezyjet for £50.

I went on the train last time I went to Glesgae as it was about the same price.

Post Count: 2202

Well in advance with off peak return, thetrainline is doing for 70 for me to get in glasgae at about a quarter past eleven. Hey Cuddles, want to pick me up from Leicester? I'll chip in for fuel :P

I looked online last night for Easyjet. Would cost me £40 for the flights there and back, and that includes insurance. Of course, the taxi from the airport to central station is £22.

Crunchy - Only cheesecake can bring a smile to her face.

There's gonna be cheesecake? I'm going.

There is an Ariva bus which is £4.20 into the city centre, number 600, right outside Terminal 1.
