It was months in the making but after a lot of planning, hotel booking, flights, trains and buses the Ready Up crew and community diverged on London’s Trocadero Centre for some face time together, a bit of gaming and later on many boozes down the pub.
Gaming online, chatting on the forum and working on the site together means that we all know each other pretty well but it’s only when you sit down for a chat and squash together for a photo that you really bond with a person. It’s funny that in this virtual space we co-exist in we’ve spent hundreds of hours in each others company but there’s some ancient human hangover that means that eye contact and making someone smile in ‘real time’ still has great meaning for us. It’s a great benefit we have to being a UK community that we are never prohibitively far from one another. We can meet up and hug it out. We can, we have and will continue to.
Thanks to Shaz for organising this meet up, Zoey helping people out on the day and Joe for allowing us to crash the DS meet in the Horse & Groom pub. Check out the gallery below. Click on the thumbnails to see the bigger picture.

Pretty much what Darach said. But also I’m so photogenic when I’m not on the edge of pictures! Yes, my right leg and both hands make appearances in a group shot and Outrun gaming! Bloody lip biting…

Good to see some pics fo the day. I am concerned about how Tiq is playing that machine, what with both hands clearly above the screen.

although pics can never fully translate the good times had by you all, im still incredibly jelous as it looked like a right giggle.

Really enjoyed myself that day. A bit too much, by all accounts. But never mind me. It was good to meet all of you that I hadn’t met before. And I got a free meal out of Darach!
ps. Has anyone else noticed that Kirsten looks a bit like Miss Pacman in the big picture?

It does look like a fab day was had. Am also miffed that I missed it… definately coming to the next one, as long as the not very profitable place I work hasn’t either self-destructed of cut my job!

Are you saying I have a perfectly spherical head with a big wedge out of it for my mouth?

What a man does with an arcade machine, in his spare time, is his own business. Besides… stop judging me, there’s nothing wrong with loving games. >:(
