Stumped – Swiping and Sliding Along

Sup son. It’s yo gurl Sarah-Lou wid sum wicked, sick mobile gaming review. Yeah! Now I have appeased the young masses with words they will understand, time to get on with the review.

So after gushing over my much needed Internet, I thought it was time to get back to what I do best. Shining lights and spreading my sassy comments on the sparkling mobile gaming gems that I was bothered enough to download.

The Quest Keeper

This particular game caught my roving eye as it had the word “quest” in it. The little 16bit characters I had seen in the screen shots also helped. Aim of the game: to complete one of the 10 available quests without plummeting to your grizzly death. To move your character (a.k.a the wanderer…or Steve as I think that’s much better) all you need to do is swipe in the direction you want to go. This action deemed ridiculously hard for me, as I kept forgetting that ickle Steve doesn’t stop walking until he bumps into something or falls off the ledge. Luckily, there are plenty of treasure chests and random blocks to help slow you down. As you navigate though the level, you may come across a revive block. Providing you walk over it, should you meet your doom, you can restart at that point instead of going all the way to the bloody beginning. Also, each time you die, the level layout changes so that trying to remember where shit was, is just a waste of time.

Kitty in the Box

If your a fan of cats, watching them sliding on their tums or sitting in a box a box, you are going to shit yourself happy. This puzzle come cute fest, involves you pressing your screen to give your chosen kitty enough of a run up. Once you release your finger, your little moggy will throw itself into a tummy slide which will hopefully get it into the box without falling off the edge. You also have to jump into tiny little baskets which you do by flicking at the screen. Should you be successful in reaching said box or basket, you progress to the next level. If you manage to get the bonus food just on the other end of the box, I’m not sure what happens, but trust me. it’s a good thing.

Silly Sausage: In Meat Land

Silly Sausage is a bendy, flexible, meaty cat-looking-dog that is able to extend like a Stretch Armstrong (remember those toys?!). This bendy ability is super helpful as you move around the level, grabbing green gems. As you stretch along, you will see horrible spiky things which if you touch them send you catapulting all the way to the start. You can opt to start from a doghouse check point, should you reach it of course, but that means spending some of your hard grabbed gems. As you stretch along, Silly Sausage is able to grab onto walls and ledges which is nifty. This allows you to get yourself into a sneaky nook on the wall, as you wait for the icky spiky or other dangerous item to move in order to continue your adventure.
