Stumped – The Unlikely Edition

It’s me, Sarah-Lou with another Stumped, your monthly guide to all that is mobile gaming. So as you already know, I’ve been exploring beyond my puzzle comfort zone and have been trying out other gaming genres. I have a feeling my street cred may drop a couple points after you read this, but before you slate me just keep an open mind… pretty please.

Rhythm Control 2

Let’s start off with some screen tapping action, courtesy of Rhythm Control 2. With six boxes, the aim is to tap the correct box to the beat of the music. Like with any rhythm game worth its salt, you got your double taps and your holding the button which is cool. What I liked about the game was how it’s very much like a mini Dance Dance Revolution in your pocket. Now I know it’s not good blogging ettiquet to describe one game as “it’s very much like…” but fudge that. If it helps explain to you what I’m trying to describe, then it’s all gravy!

Paper Folding

Origami is one of my all time favourite past times I’ve had for years now. Every so often, when I’m feeling creative, I tear up a piece of paper into a square to make the only origami thing I can do… which is a crane. Yeah, I should of learned more than that by now, but there is only so much paper I can ruin. But it’s all good now. And you know why? Because I can learn and play with the jazzy game, Paper Folding. It comes with three difficulties, each with 24 levels, where you have to recreate the shape within a certain number of moves. As you can probably guess, some of the shapes you create are super tricky, especially when your folds overlap, but you know I like a challenge (sometimes).

Kim Kardashian: Hollywood

Out of curiosity I thought I’d give this a shot. Now put to one side that she’s a sort of celebrity with an interesting husband, or her and her family shares their daily on goings with the world, but let’s be adults about it and judge the game for what it is and what it can do. This role playing game takes your chosen character along the path of stardom. After a chance meeting with Mrs West, you get to see if you can climb the ropes of awesome and become a Hollywood celebrity. You get given different tasks which you tap to complete, which all helps to build up your experience and also fatten up your wallet. It’s not exactly the most challenging of games, but if you’re a fan of the Kardashians, you’re in for a treat as you get sound bites from the lady herself.

And there you go, three very different games that you can try on your mobile device this month. Until next time, keep on puzzlin’!
