Assassin’s Creed IV companion app lands on iOS and Android

Today Ubisoft announced the release of their free Assassin’s Creed 4 companion app on both iOS and Android systems.

The app allows your phone or tablet to act as a second screen that lets players to navigate menus without having to pause their game, or they can have a bored friend do it for them.

The app lets you search the world map, give orders to Kenway’s fleet, track your game progress, find treasure maps and keep in touch with your friends. Presumably only friends who have a Uplay account.

In a cool twist you can use the app to give orders to Kenway’s fleets when you’re away from your chosen gaming device and even use your fleets to help secure trade routes for your friends. Ubisoft have even cobbled together a trailer for it.

It’s hardly a game changer but it’s nice, like you’d imagine most companion apps will be. You can head over to Google Play or the iOS App Store to grab the Assassin’s Creed 4 companion app now.
