Back in May, when the Xbox One was unveiled to the world, Microsoft explained that consumers would be able to use the console’s USB 3.0 port for external storage and to use it for game installations and storing downloads. It now has emerged that this feature won’t be available to the console at launch.
In his PAX special podcast, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, explains “My understanding is that feature will not be there at launch because the team is working on some other things, but it definitely is on the list. I don’t know when it will come in though.”
The Xbox One will be released this holiday season with a 500GB internal hard drive which can’t be replaced.
