Victory Games have released the second video in their ‘Beyond the Battle’ developer diary series, revealing their newest unit recreation – the ‘Nuke Truck’.
The Nuke Truck originally appeared in Command & Conquer: Generals and, given the news that the stupidly named ‘Command & Conquer’ 2013 F2P game was originally destined to become Command & Conquer: Generals 2, should not come as too large of a surprise to any fan of the RTS series.
Perhaps more interesting however is the video showing how the C&C team go from concept, to completed unit – including the pricing balance and tech trees that must be taken into consideration for each unit in the game. A balancing act that it rarely so openly mentioned by C&C developers; making this a refreshing start for the newest title in the franchise.
Part 1 of ‘Beyond the Battle’ can be found here, where Victory Games – quite rightly – state they need to wash off the stain of Command & COnquer 4 from the franchise. Amen to that, Victory.
