Britain second largest grocer Asda, has stopped stocking all Wii U consoles, games and accessories in store. The news comes after several price cuts of the Wii U console made by Walmart (the American retailer which owns Asda), which took the console down to an incredible £149.99 for the Basic 8GB SKU.
None of the 555 Asda stores will be stocking any Wii U product, though some games and accessories will still be available to purchase via the retailer’s website.
An official statement from Asda confirms the news: “Asda continues to offer customers a selection of Wii U games and accessories through Asda Direct, but these ranges are currently not on offer in Asda shops“.
Nintendo has yet to comment on the news.
