Assassin’s Creed 4 Sets Sail in New Gameplay Trailer

The trailer highlights both the naval and land combat expected in the game and follows Captain Edward Kenway as he attempts to take down corrupt sources of power, all the while remaining loyal to his crew. The trailer contains a mix of gameplay and cinematic elements and is embedded below.

In related news, Ubisoft is projecting a lower sales forecast for Assassin’s Creed 4, despite confidence in the new game’s setting. During a financial-earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said:

“The American Revolution was very appealing for our gamers, and the Golden Age of Piracy may be just as exciting, if not even more. Our targets conservatively reflect lower sales expectation for AC4 than for AC3.”

However, a lower sales forecast might seem more reasonable when you consider that Assassin’s Creed 3 moved a whopping 12.5 million copies between retail and digital distribution.

Assassin’s Creed 4 is due on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on 29th of October. A “Skull Edition” collector’s set is also available for pre-order, containing additional single and multiplayer maps, as well as the expected steel-book for the main game.
