Saints Row IV, which started out as an expansion to previous series entry Saints Row: The Third, has since blossomed into a full title. With this sequel, Volition is clearly aiming to outdo its predecessor by (somehow) upping the amount of crazy possible in a sand-box environment.
As President of the United States (yes, I’m serious), it’s up to the player – who is trapped in a virtual-reality simulation of Steelport – to save the free world from aliens. To do this, they’ll need to utilise an arsenal of outlandish weapons and abilities, including a dub-step gun which fires blasts in sync with music, a mech-suit capable of leveling environments with little effort, and a number of powers inspired by super-heroes, such as super-speed, power-jumps and ice-blasts.
Saints Row IV will hit retail relatively soon, with a European release date of 23rd August on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
