Company of Heroes 2’s Theatre of War unveiled

Relic seem to be taking a leaf out of Halo 4’s book and offering up their Theatre of War, a content delivery system along the lines of Spartan Ops that will extend single-player game time by offering up varied combat missions outside of the game’s main campaign.

Like Spartan Ops Theatre of War will be playable both alone or with some pals, so you get to stick it to nasty old Fritz with buddies along side you.

At launch Theatre of War will have nine stand-alone missions to offer each of games the two factions, with the aim presumably being towards tempting traditionally single-player gamers into trying out online multiplayer.

As someone whose been on the receiving end of the original game’s painfully long waits to find an opponent I can only express hope that such players take the bait.
