The Xbox Live Indie Game marketplace is a strange and rarely traversed land for many Xbox gamers, but deep within its bowels there lives a very dedicated and passionate fan base. Over 1.5 million strong at least, as it turns out, as CastleMiner Z – a crafting survival horror game featuring zombies – has officially sold over 1.5m copies since its launch in November 2011.
Thomas Steinke, Owner of developer DigitalDNA, announced this weekend that: “CastleMiner Z has hit 1.5M sales on the Xbox! Making it one of the most successful indie titles of all time, let alone on the Xbox.” Adding afterwards: “I have to thank each and every one of you for making this game such a success. I could not have done it without you, and your support has allowed me to continue working on the game and the CastleMiner franchise. Thank you everyone!”
Don’t reach for the vodka just yet though because there’s more. The other big names topping the Xbox Live Indie Game charts right now, including many unforgettable titles, are: Total Miner, FortressCraft, and Murder Miners…
CastleMiner Z is available on the Xbox Live Indie Game marketplace now for 80 Microsoft Points – less than a Burger King cheeseburger.
