Incoming – April Plus

Welcome back to our feature where we aim to outline the new releases that that our readers might be interested in!

It’s RPG-overload this month for Nintendo 3DS owners. Etrian Odyssey IV is first off the bat this Friday, for those looking to mix charming dialogue and aesthetics with rock-hard, old-school dungeon exploration and battling. For something a bit more surreal, there’s a tactical Shin Megami Tensei entry in Devil Survivor Overclocked, and I really hope that’s the last time I have to list it here in Incoming. Seriously, it’s been delayed for almost two years.

While these are all excellent choices for role-playing on the go, my clear recommendation has to go to the wonderful Fire Emblem: Awakening, finally arriving on our shores on the 19th of April. I might be biased, though – I reviewed it!

Also hitting retail on the 19th is the curious Injustice: Gods Among Us, a sort of spiritual sequel to Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which Giles previewed last month. Elsewhere, legendary RTS Age of Empire II gets a Steam-enabled, HD-remastered release on the 9th of April; there’s all-new Star Trek game out on 26th of April, which Duncan and Susan already previewed; and dungeoneer Mark will be hotly anticipating the DLC included in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, available on the same day.

As usual, there’s some cool stuff happening on PlayStation Plus, but the highlight for European members has to be the absolutely gorgeous re-issue of Ōkami. Handily, Sony America have finally switched to a monthly cycle for information updates, so I can now tell you that Demon’s Souls – the often under-appreciated predecessor to Dark Souls – is the main PlayStation Plus title available this month.
