Never fear, we’ve come across some great ‘things’ in the last year and we’ve put them here for your viewing and gifting pleasure, each of these have been thoroughly tested by a member of the Ready Up team and come with our stamp of approval!
SteelSeries FLUX Headset – Recommended by: Dan
RRP £79.99 – Available here
I swear if that cat chews another headphone cable I’ll… buy another set of headphones.
Back in September we gave away a pile of SteelSeries Guild Wars 2 kit, amongst that pile was a Guild Wars 2 Flux headset, it sat on my desk for a week or so while the competition ran and I spent that week looking at it longingly. The day I posted it to our lucky winner I ordered the black version of the Flux for myself. I’ve used my Flux headset everyday since I got it, it comes with detachable cables for your PC and mobile so I can jump between the two with little fuss. This also means that should one of the cables get chewed on by a delinquent cat I can easily replace it. Rugged, versatile, very customisable and offering a huge sound for their size, you won’t got wrong with these as the perfect a gift for an gamer on the go.
City of Horror – The Board Game – Recommended by: Dean
RRP £39.99 – Available here
It could be Raccoon city, or any other backwater American town in popular fiction at the mercy of a zombie invasion.
Taken from our full review “City of Horror dwarfs the lacklustre, rushed Walking Dead boardgame, also recently released hot off the back of the TV show. This is a game with pedigree in the form of a respected cult prequel, and although it’s true that if it weren’t for the popularity of the genre then it probably would never have gotten a second chance to shine, we should be thankful it has, because this is one of the most dramatic, enjoyable and tense games you will play this year.”
Ear Muffs – Recommended by: Kirsten
RRP £14.99 – Available here
“I really can’t staaay, Baby it’s cold outside…”
“…that’s okay, I’ve got my KitSound Hear Muffs”? Well okay, it may not have been quite as successful a song had that been the lyric but the headphone/ear muff combo is a smash hit with me. I’m a hard sell too as I don’t like anything touching my ears generally! These are very soft and comfy though, I quite like rubbing ’em on my cheeks when I’m not
listening to music through them. The grey ones are fairly unisex too so this could be an ideal gift for tech loving loved ones.
