Duncan: This was probably the most inevitable blog I was ever going to write in my life. I’m glad that back in 2010, when my sleep deprivation and caffeine addiction was much higher than it was now, that I did document this night of gaming. Even reading it back now I don’t remember writing a single word of it. I also still have the whammy bar from that Guitar Hero controller as a souvenir of the experience.”

Having read this back I think this might be my favourite rant I’ve ever gone on for Ready Up. Mainly because two and a half years later I still agree with myself reading it back. I remember the anger I had for it back then and I still have it, only now I’m much more mature and know to channel my anger through productive things like yoga and alcohol. You know how these days gamers get angry at good/evil moral choice systems? Or overly used quick time events? Grading systems to me are what those are to other people. Fuck grading systems!”

The Ready Up Rambo Relay should live on in infamy because it was AWESOME. A large group, all working together, to do something great for the sake of fun and happiness? That’s what Ready Up is all about. One day a group of people who met each other on the Internet congregated in London to spent a lot of money to complete Rambo. A true modern day fairy tale.
The Ready Up Rambo Relay
“I want to share a dream. A dream first dreamt by three mildly drunk gamers on an eventful day in history: February 21st, 2009. It was the evening portion of the first Ready-Up gathering of the year and three men stood around a darts board, among a mass of fellow Ready-Up members, reflecting on a hard days gaming in London’s Trocadero. These three men: Duncan ‘The Nerd’ Aird, Mark ‘The Boss’… Boss, and Giles ‘ThatGiloFella’ Armstrong were innocently discussing their favourite arcade machine discovery of that day – Rambo.” Read more…
