Welcome back to our feature where we aim to highlight the new releases that that our readers might be interested in!
After the frankly ridiculous release flurry last month, I was really hoping that this month would be quieter. But not only do we have a killer FPS trio with Halo 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Far Cry 3, we’ve got a new Layton adventure, another Hitman mission and LEGO’s interpretation of the epic Lord of the Rings Trilogy, just in time for the Winter release of The Hobbit! Phew. Sony, too, will be pushing its exclusives with LittleBigPlanet Karting and their take on the Super Smash Bros. formula, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, which was co-developed with input from Street Fighter community legend, Seth Killian.
Even crazier, we’ll be seeing the first signs of the next generation of consoles with the launch of the Wii U on the 30th of November. As someone whose favourite games of the last decade cross all platforms, I couldn’t be more excited to see how developers utilise the unique features of the Nintendo’s new mainstay! Whether it’s all new experiences with ZombiU and Nintendo Land, or “enhanced” versions of recent favourites like Mass Effect 3 and Assassin’s Creed 3, it’s a very healthy launch-day line-up.
