Golden Joystick Awards 2012

Welcome, once again, to the Golden Joystick Awards. This year is the award ceremony’s 30th Anniversary and I’m sure within hours after its conclusion it shall be labelled as the biggest and best ever. Will this be the case? I have no idea! Because I am here typing this live (or as live as is possible) and I have no knowledge of who the winners are or what is in-store over the day.

There are definitely some categories I have my eye on, Top Gaming Moment, Best Shooter, and Best Strategy being of my personal interest, but the range of awards this year is terrific. There’s a room full of anxious developers downstairs as I type awaiting the award commencement, a batch of Independent Media members typing away alongside me, and a batch of eagerly awaiting gamers watching Twitter and YouTube to see who are the big winners.
