Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer’s Edition

Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2012 is out now, check www.guinnessworldrecords.com/gamers for more information. It is officially our favourite thing that Guinness makes. I fought hard for “pints of”, but was beaten down.

Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer’s Edition

Ready Up has genuine pedigree in the field of gaming world records, which you can find out more about by clicking here. So, it was a very happy day when three of our team were asked to write sections in the 2012 edition.

Yes, you can read about the movers, shakers and record-breakers of the last year in first person shooters with Kirsten, fighting games with Dan and racers with John. Once you’ve feverishly digested each word in those sections, you can feast further on the rest of the book. Want to know what the first album ever to debut in a social networking game was? Who was paid the highest fee ever to appear in a game advert? What does the world’s largest game controller look like? Does it mean that King Kong can finally take on Godzilla (and that giant wolf-thing) at Rampage?

The answer to this, and many other less important questions can be found in the book.

The great thing about books is that even if you can’t access the internet due to total worldwide data network outage or (more likely) zombie apocalypse you can still read them in the bath, or wherever it is that people read books these days. If you were to possess Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer’s Edition, once the world recovered you would then be one of the most informed members of the new gaming society, or failing that you could walk around telling zombies which racing game has the highest number of polygons per car ever (hint: it came out last year).

Close, but miles off. Stupid zombies.

The great news is, to achieve that vision, you don’t even have to buy the book! That’s right, we’re giving away two copies of Guinness World Records Gamers Edition 2012. No gaming bookshelf is complete without the latest edition, so get on it and enter below. Closes Feb 17th, 2012.

For a chance to win, all you need to do is answer this simple question: What are the names of the Karting trio above?

A: Dom, Marcus & Cole (you schlegg!)
B: Kirsten, Dan & John
C: Peach, Mario & Yoshi
