The Inner Game In Me

I’m sure most of you may have noticed that we’ve had a little bit of snow last week, and I don’t know whether or not it’s just me but it has really bummed me out. I mean, it’s been fun to play in the snow for like the first three days it was here, but now I am ready for the snow to leave. It’s too cold to go out and I’m getting bored of slipping and sliding every time I step out of my house when I go to work. At times like these, I always thank my lucky stars that at the end of a boring working day, I can go home, chill out and play my Xbox 360. The only downside is that I can’t take it with me and get my Gears of War 2 on while I wait outside in the freezing cold for my bus. So as a cheap and alternative way of keeping my mind occupied during these boring times, I have decided to make up my own computer game starring me. Yes I know it’s weird, yes it’s odd and I am using unnecessary brain power but I’m sure my gaming lovelies, that you have at some point thought of it yourself.

Now this game is really simple, all you need is an imagination and some spare time, which as of late I have plenty of. If you lack imagination you can always pick and borrow stuff you’ve seen on a game or an anime, don’t worry I won’t tell anyone if you do. So first and foremost you’ve got to decide what your character name would be. Originally I thought it’d be great to use my gamer tag but I don’t think Sezzyboo is one of those names that would strike fear into the heart of my enemies. So after giving it some thought, I’ve come up with the suitable alternative of Iron Lotus. With my kick ass name in place, I had to think of what my weapon of choice and special ability would be.

To slay my enemies, I thought it would be great to have a sword that could change into a whip on my command. It can also break into small pieces which can spin and attack anything which I point to. When it came to me thinking about my special ability, I had to think long and hard about this but I’ve thought it’d be cool to create an alternate world. This would allow my enemies to believe they were in a field of pink and purple roses where they’re drawn towards a giant lotus which eats them up.

My terrible attempt at doing a fighting pose. I am so so sorry guys.

And last but not least, I needed a story which will not only captivate my audience but will have many twists and turns, keeping the player guessing. So tell me how does this sound: my character Iron Lotus is a bounty hunter night elf in training. After my village was attacked by a giant snailman (which is a cross between a snail and a man) I swear vengeance on my family who were killed and I also have to rescue my little sister who was captured. Doesn’t that sound cool? Now I have a treat for you all. I have decided to actually put my thoughts to life. Now I don’t know how to actually make a game, for I lack experience in coding and I can’t draw very well. But damn it I have a camera and a burning desire to make an absolute idiot of myself for your entertaining pleasure. So what I have decided to do was make my own front cover and have some other pictures of me looking mean. Hope ya’ll enjoy!

    ARGH the snailman cometh!!!!!

You have a fantastic imagination – if you want someone to write a poorly executed piece of Java to bring your vision to blocky life, I’m your man.

If you could get someone who can build proper games though, I would buy this. Sounds right up my street.
