It's an interesting issue, definitely. Maybe we will see a bit more nudity in games, not as a gimmick but as part of a coherent theme or atmosphere.

Personally, I don't find the character of Bayonetta sexy. I'm probably in a minority.

Nudity is quite the norm in films and even papers, more often than not you aren't even aware of it's existance. I would like to see that in games too, that some games used it but not to titilate, how many films can justify nudity? The saboteur had the option to skip the mature content, but I think that option makes people want to see it more. More press was given to the " sexy bits " in Mass Effect than Saboteur or Dantes Inferno.
I would just like to see greater tolerances for mature content in games as there are in other forms of media.

I don't believe games have reached a level of maturity that explicit nudity has become either tasteful or effective. I don't mind a hint of titillation with flamboyant costumes or exaggerated forms (where appropriate) but I have yet to play a game that actually has a good reason for nudity beyond trying to grab the attention of a randy male fan base.
Technology has come a long way, if we compare 3d characters to those of a decade ago it's an amazing leap forward, but there's a long way to go before gamer audiences will be able to empathise or connect on any emotional level with the clump of polygons occupying their display, take for instance Heavy Rain - a game which prides itself on the performances of its characters in the emotionally charged story - visually it looks alright but it sits firmly in the uncanny valley.
There has been quite a few games which have tried to pull off romance/sex recently, and personally I’ve found them all unspeakably cringe worthy, to the point I'd appreciate it if developers added an option similar to that of Modern Warfare 2 that lets you pick to automatically skip such nonsense. I would sooner get caught watching some kind of strange fetish porn than the love scene in Mass Effect.
There'll always be a market for this kind of nudity, after all if there's people out there who obsess over the exaggerate anime/manga depictions of the quasi-female form of 12 year olds then anything's possible, but I think we've still got a way to go before nudity can be anything more than a way for games to try and grab people’s attention.
