Imagine: Girl Paradise

Imagine a room taken over by eight year old girls, filled with their favourite things and then set up for a party. This was the vision greeting me at the Imagine event in London on the 13th of August. It was super sparkly, full of balloons and adorned with amazingly cute cup cakes. I instantly felt like a princess.

On offer was a manicure, professional make up, party treats, or (if I had turned up just a little earlier) the chance to play with a variety of small dogs brought along to yap and prance around the room. Sadly all I saw of them was the sea of fur remaining on the carpet. Most importantly girls could station themselves at one of the themed party tables and try out the upcoming titles in the Imagine series.

I played: Detective adventures, Party planner and Teacher school trip. They were all incredibly easy to play, immediately engrossing and thoroughly fun. It is so refreshing to turn up to an event where you can just settle straight in and play the game without someone hovering over you explaining the uniquely complex control system, or repeatedly jumping you past all the unfinished content. No load times, no crashes, no need to call in the tech expert, just ready to roll, quick and easy fun.

The purpose of this event was not only to tantalise young girls with upcoming releases but also to launch the Imagine dream competition. Ubisoft will be offering one lucky girl the chance to live out her dreams for a day and have it made into a three minute advert that will be shown on the same day as the X factor finals! Its easy to enter: just log on at www.imaginemydream.com from the 12th of September and tell the world your dream. It can be presented in text, pictures or a short video.

So there you go, if you are an 8 – 12 year old girl, with a passion for super girly stuff, Imagine has a lot to offer you in the upcoming months. I finished the day by grabbing a biscuit iced to look like a cupcake and jumping into the lift to take me back down to drab old London. If only everywhere could be red carpets, sparkle stars and streamers.

Are you sure you still don’t work for Ubisoft in some way, shape, or form? After reading this latest blog, I kind of start to wonder.

OK, seriously (I need to wipe this silly grin off of my face), nice blog. When I saw the second picture, I thought, It’s the 80s again!

Oh god being stuck in a place like that would make me want to kill myself

And that’s just because of the Imagine games

    You and me both Jonathan.

Nice piece, Eleanor, and tons of nibbles by the look of it! Should have taken a carrier bag and made off with that cake and biscuits…

You’ve clearly never been to Govan then :))

It was nice, you would not kill yourselves, you would love it (as long as you were on your own and didn’t have to admit it to anyone)!

I showed the flier to the people I work with, they wanted to go.

Why do you have to be an 8 – 12 year old girl to enter, I have dreams too. Although, some may not be suitable for TV. 🙂

I noticed a cake in one of these pictures. I call dibs on it in case no one else already has.

There is way.. WAY too much pink here. Being a biker with tattoos and an earring I obviously don’t think that stereotypes have ANY place in a modern dynamic culture!! 🙂 Girls = Pink.. surely not!

It’s like a giant Glyph of Warding against men (at least those who aren’t fathers, anyway).
