I just can’t decide what I like the most: is it the hand drawn style, the little edges of pen line and watercolour shading? Is it the the gaping faced dogs, drooling at the anticipation of the kill? Or is it just the great ass? Hard to choose really. Maybe I just like all three.

Ummm elbowy
No, I have to pick a winner and for me it’s the dogs. I like the instant thoughts of Blade 2 and Silent Hill that they sum up. Coming in at a close second it’s the cartoony style that reminds me of such loves as the most recent Prince of Persia and Okami. In last place I put the ass, harsh but fair.
Anyway enough of that. Borderlands has been hotly anticipated for many years now and E3 was an opportunity for fans to get a mental grip on the fact that it is nearly here. So load up your guns, and make sure all your holiday is available in September this year.

Blue skies and bunting, the recipe for all good gaming times
Borderlands is an amalgamation of FPS and RPG. That’s fast paced, blood bath, army style, macho gaming for men mixed with slow paced, character building, mission accepting, leveling up lady style gaming. Like chalk and cheese methinks. Possibly just too good to be true, surely we don’t buy that it can possibly be any good? Or do we…

With all that killing I might just be in love
It is hard not to be somewhat curious about it. Maybe even just a little roped in by its promise of so many weapons and awesome stuff to kill. You get to play one of four nicely designed characters and there is even the chance to make that bland old RPG experience into an exciting mini MMORPG, with just a little help from your friends… or the run of the mill Internet randoms if you don’t have any friends.

Check out the team, there's Mordecai, Roland, Lilith and Brick. Guess who drew the short straw from the name pot?
So there you have it - Borderlands in all its shiny glory through the medium of E3 screen shots. Like many RPGs I can imagine that I will always gravitate towards its great looking box, but somehow I know that I will never have the time or patience to really get the best out of it. Such is the way of the RPG. Clearly the normal eight hours of uninvolved FPS gameplay is not cutting it in 2009. I think I will sit back for a moment and see how that goes.

It’s like first-person Diablo with guns. What’s not to like?

After much deliberation…
I’m gonna have to go; art-style, great ass, and then the dogs. :)
But then the first two are really a tie, and I was always more of a cast person myself. :)
