I find it hard to part with any game to trade in, even though I know in my heart I will never play it...there is always that...'I might do one day' thing hanging over me, though lately I have become slightly more mercenary...but only slightly!

I have sold consoles and games to friends and sold my SNES and games in a shop once. That was yeeeaarrs ago. Since then I've never traded a game in for credit. I have every 360 game I've bought. I don't trade a film/tv show on dvd after I've watched it, so why do it with games. I like my collection too much. And seeing as I don't drink I need to re-cycle my money into something.

The whole lending games between friends is the best way to play as much as possible on a budget. I just need more time/less work to play them. :-D

I agree with you and the idea of trading games. It encourages recycling - an issue I'm very passionate about - saves you money (especially with the grossly hyped coined media phrase "the credit crunch" ) and of course for some businesses it's their main area of profit. The increase in one-time use codes with online registration (PC games in particular) are on the rise and this you could say is their backlash at losing money. However gaming isn't exactly a cheap hobby for the majority of people and I think that pre-owned stock is vital for not only retailers, but individuals who don't have £40 to spend on a game. Very thought-provoking article :)

I completely understand this, Shaz. Being self-employed seems to translate into me having very little expendable money, so I too have become involved in the trading game. But don't you find that it hurts every time you trade a game in, even if you didn’t particularly enjoy it? I hate it because I have collected games for years, so I have this adverse reaction to it even though I am getting something great in return, rather like Alex in A Clockwork Orange (although I try to keep the throwing up to a minimum whilst in the store...).

Oh, and by the way, you're not the only littl'n in the Ready Up team anymore :D

http://www.goozex.eu/referral.asp?idr=4788359704 Is a good site for game trading, offers a better economy than the Game/Gamestation system as well. It's tough, I like to support the devs but being a student it's just not possible.

I will get Soul Cali IV back someday, I miss it! However I also have my eyes on Battle Fantasia and then there's Tekken 6 on the way too. It's about priority. ^^

Ack. Shaz, you traded in SCIV? You traded in our game.?!

Great. Now who am I going to play against in that game once I get my 360 back up and running?

To be honest, I've loaned that game plus SFIV to a friend of mine at work while my 360 is down. I have my eye on a copy of Namco Virtual Arcade at Gamestop since they're having their Game Days sale on right now. They're selling it for $15, which is quite a bargain.

Then there's Sonic Genesis Collection (or whatever name it is) that's also caught my eyes. Moreso than any of the other games that are out there right now.
