Alot of random crap pops into my head through the day, alot! I spend far to much time thinking. Only…it’s not that useful type of thinking that helps you along in life. Y’know, like making plans, I don’t do that. Organising things, nope, not me. My mind is possibly incapable of conscious “grown up” thought. My responsibility stuff just gets done, it doesn’t get dwelled upon.
You don’t really need to know what comes and goes through my head, although sometimes I do tend to type it out and display it on Ready Up for all to see. Whether it be boring, silly or enjoyable you can’t unread it once you have read it, you just can’t, never ever.
Mixed up in the insane craziness and shiny dreamy ponderings, every now and then, along comes a blog idea. Although I don’t realise it’s a blog idea at first. It’s possibly just a title or a closing line but I keep adding words until it wont fit in my head anymore then I have to put the words down on paper or screen.
I decided lately that if I could choose any world to live in it would be the Oblivion world. I’ve spent many days in Cyrodil, possibly too many, who knows, but I suppose that if you really like a place, you’ll always keep going back.

Upon my return each time I am welcomed by all. They love me there, I am a champion, I am their champion. It was I that saved Tamriel from Mehrunes Dagon. It was I that found Uriel Septims heir. He dreamed of me you know, the emperor, before we’d even met. I was nothing back then, my life was leading nowhere but downhill fast. By a curious twist of fate I was given a second chance and I embraced it, whole-heartedly.
Unskilled and untrained I poured my energy into bettering myself. I travelled the beautiful green forests and tranquil mountains of the land. Helping those I deemed worthy of my assistance. Valiantly and ruthlessly exterminating anyone or anything who opposed me. I became a master, a master of the blade and bow, of illusion and destruction magic and as strong and athletic as physically possible. Practise, experience and determination earned me the respect and admiration of many.

I own a li’l place in the Jerall Mountains. It was left to me by a relative. It feels good to get back there now and then. Everything is as I left it, my weapons, my treasure, the people I’ve collected and told to wait there so they can greet me with adoration and smiles. I sometimes sit and listen to music, I make spells and enchant armour. Then, when I feel like venturing outside, my faithful steed Shadowmere is waiting ready to carry me on my next adventure.
A world without guns, chainsaws and tanks is not somewhere I would think I would enjoy being so much. There is no multi-player, there are no Oblivion stats. I can happily while away hours there, doing nothing, or something, whatever, if I feel like it. It’s a complete change from the hectic carnage of XBL where I spend most of my free time, it’s a place where aim and strafe and explosions can be ignored, where friendly fire can be forgiven with a little charm or gold. It’s a break from team scores, it’s a break from kill/death ratios, and possibly, most appealing of all, it’s a break from myself.

Laura, I loved this post and couldn’t agree more. I adore Oblivion and it’s realm of Cyrodil and these screns have brought a tear to my quest shirking eye…This is my top game and probably my all time Desert Island (with power sockets) choice. The Jerral Mountains pad is nce but my place in Skingrad is spiffier…

This got me thinking…I wonder where my adoring fan is, did he survive that ghost boat I locked him on? Is he one of the living dead now? Will he come back to haunt me in more frustrating and annoying ways?
All time desert Island choice for me would be: Azeroth, somewhere along the shores of Loch Modan where I can sit in peace, and just spend my time fishing on the banks of the lake.

You’ve reminded me what a great place Cyrodiil was. The one thing that did get to me though, was the way everyone would always shout “Well met!” after me as I sprinted past. I’d always end up turning round and starting a conversation about Rumours, just for politeness’ sake.

I just cannot get into this game, I’ve tried so hard to love it, bought it twice and ended up trading it back on both occassions.
It is a beautiful game, but I just cant commit any time to it.

Lorna’s right! The only thing missing from the Oblivion world is electricity, for XBL :)
Oh Ben how could you do that to your adoring fan?! He’s so faithful, he’s like a li’l puppy :p
In my tower I have the adoring fan of course, a mage and one of the Knights of the Nine.
LOL @ Cuddles “I’d always end up turning round and starting a conversation about Rumours, just for politeness’ sake.” :D
I really like “Well met” and that scowly face people do when they hate you.
*deletes Barry from XBL friends list* ;)

I think I shall be booking a flight to Cyrodil soon. Fallout 3 is awesome and it’s made me want to return to Oblivion having reminded me so much of it, especially as I’ve yet to visit Shivering Isles as well.

I have Oblivion but have literally only just started it and it was dark and rainy. That looks very pretty :D
Barry, hypnotise me too so I actually load it up again!

I enjoyed my visit to Cyrodil and The Shivering Isles. Spent 230+ hours visiting, fighting and exploring and there are still quests unfinished.
I have anice little place in Bruma to retire to when I need to rest up from a hard days gaming.

Oh everyone must visit the Shivering Isles, it’s full of creatures and sparkles!
Sheogorath is a blast too…I think he’s Scottish…or at least part pirate :/
