It doesn’t even have to be horror, just a sudden loud noise. My friend nearly p*ssed herself laughing at me when we sent to see Kill Bill and I practically hit the ceiling when the gunshot at the start went off.

It’s been a few years now, and I still haven’t played any of the Resident Evil games. Not even Deadly Silence on the DS, despite my best attempts. It’s beginning to be a little bit frustrating, as surely the less-impressive graphics shouldn’t be so terrifying. REmake I can excuse, but being physically incapable of playing through RE2 or 3? Code Veronica, my favorite in the series? Pshaw! Unheard of.

I guess it’s just the atmosphere. I was drawn to Resident Evil by the depth of the story (which I do realize has gotten extremely convoluted; so much so that “hard core” gamers often laugh at me with the response “what story?”) and as a result I get extremely absorbed by them. Doesn’t do well for my fragile psyche, and I’m left imagining moans and moving shadows in the dark for weeks afterward. I’m determined to play through them eventually, though lots of self-berating for being so scared hasn’t helped in all this time.

…I suppose this lengthy comment’s point is simply to say thank you. If you can find a way to get through games such as these, surely I can. It may take some adjusting to shift my mindset from “I won’t be scared” to “it’s alright to be scared”, but eventually I know I’ll find a way. :D

But if you really want to see me hide under the pillows, there’s few to beat The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Or anything with Chevy Chase in it.

I used to be scared by the resi games but Resi 4?… eh… I didnt find that one scary at all.

Games? I don’t get scared by them; tense maybe, not terrified… except some bits of Condemned. I heard Resident Evil 5 won’t demand co-op, though I’ve no idea how good the AI ally is.

As for scary games I can’t play them without freaking the shit outta me. Not that this will stop me with Left for Dead and Resi 5.
