Step aside Walt Disney, 360 has now given our homes a new glow of magic and enchantment. Until this game came out I had thought that Xbox 360 was seriously lacking in RPG’s. After being appalled by Blue Dragon’s standards Eternal Sonata is a good recovery for the RPG choice in my opinion.
Some of you are probably shouting, “What about Oblivion!” to which I’ll admit, I’m too lazy to look into it. I prefer to play Medieval times and sorcery in RTS’s. Everyone adores Mass Effect at the minute but with its gameplay being described like Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic. That just makes me shudder with fear. Star Wars K.O.T.O.R was made by the hands of evil! Bleurgh…
E.S serves as a tribute to Frédéric Chopin, one of history’s finest pianists and composer. Snore if you may but it’s got me intrigued to learn about Chopin through intervals of the game; a little documentation somehow makes you understand and appreciate more of his piano work(s). See this charming fellow to my right? Yup, meet Chopin as a game character! And who’d have thought some old classic arty fart could later turn out to be an admirable and cool fighter!
I’ve only started this yesterday and it’s already clenching at my mind, leaving me feeling quite fustrated when I know I’ve got to work during the week!

The game, fighting style, story plot, characters AND internal conflicts are all amazing in this game, but I still wish the ending was better portriated. Chopin (or Chopan as some seem to insist) is seriously the best character, and although the ending leaves you wondering about what the final message of the game really is, I find it quite a blow to the gamer’s expectations. E.S has the feeling of ‘kids game’ to it, but surely a deep and challenging game to finish. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
